Write Articles: Promote Your Brand

Writing an article to post online is probably one of the easiest things to do to promote your personal brand. Not only does it extend your credibility through the written word, but also it improves your visibility online where your article can spread virally if it’s seen as something of great value to others. You can publish your articles on your blog, on various online article submission sites, or with permission, on the sites and blogs of others.

As a virtual assistant or other small business owner, you can pull from many sources when it comes to article topics. Here are some simple ideas you can write about: Read more

Backup Recordings: Always be Prepared

Tara Kachaturoff

September 26, 2008 by Tara Kachaturoff · Leave a Comment

As someone who presents teleseminars and who provides support to those who do, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of having a backup recording – especially when recording a class that others have paid for. Technology is a wonderful thing, but it’s not perfect. It’s expensive in terms of your time and other resources to go back and “re do” a class because you didn’t have a backup in place.

You might think you don’t need one if you’re recording something that is free or you don’t think is important. Everything you do is important. You don’t know how many different ways a recording might be used in the future – repurposed or repackaged in to something else of value. And what if the recording fails? You won’t be happy. And if the class is something others have paid for, you owe it to them to make sure that you’re doing all that you can to deliver the class as expected – including the original recording. Read more

Make More Money: Define Your Personal Brand

Tara Kachaturoff

September 20, 2008 by Tara Kachaturoff · Leave a Comment

Not only will promoting your personal brand allow you to position yourself to earn more recognition, but also it will allow you to charge more for your products and services.

Face it — known brands command attention. And, in fact, they command more wallet share. You know this for yourself. You’re willing to pay more for a branded item that resonates with who you are and what you value than you would for a similar product that doesn’t share the same brand recognition. The same thing applies to people – to you – to your personal brand. Read more

Glance: Adding a Visual Component to Your Presentation

Tara Kachaturoff

September 20, 2008 by Tara Kachaturoff · Leave a Comment

Glance® has been named to the 2008 Inc. 5000 list of the fasting growing companies in America. And I know the reason why.

Glance®, at Glance.net, offers one of the fastest, easiest, and least expensive webinar options I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen and experienced a lot of various systems including Accuconference, GoToWebinar, GatherPlace.net, Elluminate and others. I think all of these companies offer outstanding products — don’t get me wrong.

But Glance®, a simple, easy-to-use desktop sharing application is absolutely unbelievable. It’s the “zen” version - frustration free. You can be up and running in less than 15 minutes which I proved the other day when I was doing some research for a client.

Your Personal Brand: Use it to Connect with Your Target Market Faster and Easier

Tara Kachaturoff

When you’re branded, the right people can connect with you faster, easier and with less effort … and vice versa …

In today’s connected world, you might think it would be a lot easier to find the right people – the right clients or customers, the right vendor, the right employees and so on. But with more choices than ever, more information than one can possibly ever process, and less time to make critical decisions, most business professionals can actually find it more challenging to find what and who they need.

While we have dozens of social and business networking sites and tools at our fingertips, let alone the strength of online search behemoth Google, it’s still difficult to find the right person when you need him or her. Every day, thousands of people are adding their business and career profiles to the pages of Facebook, LinkedIn, and Naymz, to name just a few. With the mass of people trying to connect with one another, it seems like finding a needle in a haystack. Read more

Teleclass or Teleseminar: A Simple Definition

Tara Kachaturoff

September 12, 2008 by Tara Kachaturoff · Leave a Comment

Many people use the terms “teleclass” and “teleseminar” interchangeably. When I think of a teleclass, typically I’m thinking of something that’s more geared to an instructor teaching something that’s part of a formal, established curriculum. I also imagine that there is interaction and interchange between the instructor and the students or between a student and another student. With today’s casual use of the term, that may or may not be the case.

On the other hand, when I think of a teleseminar, I typically think of it as a monologue about a particular topic that is not a part of a formal curriculum and which does not invite a great deal of interaction. Plain and simple, it’s a presentation with little or no interaction with attendees, except at the end when a couple of minutes may be devoted to Q & A.

Whatever the case, when it comes to supporting your client with the design, development or delivery of a teleseminar, I don’t think it’s critically important what you call it – teleclass or teleseminar. What is important is that there are certain elements that define what I’ll call a teleseminar. These include: Read more

Two heads are better than one. When we work together as a team, we can accomplish much more – faster, easier and with less effort – than we could if we were working on our own. Teleseminars: Easy and Convenient for You and Your Audience

Tara Kachaturoff

September 1, 2008 by Tara Kachaturoff · Leave a Comment

A teleseminar is a seminar that’s delivered via a telephone bridge where a number of people can come together to listen and participate as a group. Teleseminars have been around for years. And, with the decrease in communication costs, their popularity has skyrocketed because they’re not only fast and easy to set up, but also they’re convenient to attend. Here are just some of the reasons teleseminars are growing in popularity.

1. Teleseminars require no travel. As long as you have access to a telephone, you can set up and deliver a teleseminar. Equally so, participants only need access to a phone line or even a VOIP system, like Skype, to participate. This saves commute time, gasoline, and all the related frustrations associated with traveling to and from face-to-face events.
